About the Owner
Born to Franco and Assunta De Luca on October 8th, 1969, in the heart of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Vincenzo De Luca is the visionary founder of Winnipeg's finest authentic Italian cuisine, Vincenzo's Mercato.
Growing up in the warm embrace of a traditional Italian family, Vincenzo, alongside his three sisters—Rosanna, Lisa, and Linda were heavily involved in Winnipeg’s close-knit Italian community.
Vincenzo's journey into the culinary world started at a young age. Engaged in the family business from childhood, he played a vital role both as a young child and throughout his adult life. His passion for food, wine, and family became the driving force behind his culinary endeavors. From stocking shelves to slicing meats, he wore many hats in the family business. As the years rolled by, so did his responsibilities, evolving into the head manager of day-to-day operations.
About the Owner
Vincenzo is not just about the kitchen; Soccer may be his first love (don’t tell his wife!), and as a young athlete he forged many memories & relationships. His teenage years were marked by volunteering at the Italian folklorama pavilion, reflecting his deep connection to his heritage.
Vincenzo has been happily married to his wife, Daniela, for 26 years. Together, they share the joys of parenthood with their two daughters, Juliana and Cristina. Family outings and travels have become cherished traditions.
Outside the kitchen, Vincenzo finds pleasure in the finer things—whether it's enjoying a glass of scotch, cheering for his favorite football team, or reveling in the camaraderie of a soccer match. For him, life is about relishing moments with friends and family, and this philosophy resonates in every corner of Vincenzo’s Mercato.
After 35 years of crafting culinary masterpieces in his family's kitchen, Vincenzo decided it was time to carve out his own legacy, alongside his devoted wife and two daughters.
